Outstanding, early 19th Century 'flame' mahogany, bow-front Stick Barometer; the ‘ogee’ pediment over finely engraved silvered brass register plates, signed by the maker, and bearing rack-and-pinion operated vernier [the mechanism, intriguingly, typical of the workshop of the renowned Jesse Ramsden of London]. The finely patinated trunk, ebony banded, and with original cistern tube terminating within attractive ebonised urn shaped cistern cover.
