Outstanding, early 19th Century mahogany ‘flat to-the-wall’ bowfront Stick Barometer; the ogee moulded pediment over finely engraved silvered brass register plates, signed by the makers, and bearing the classic Ramsden ‘wrap-around’ vernier, operated by tortoiseshell set-knob via solid state rack-and-pinion mechanism. The well figured trunk ebony banded, inset with impressive Fahrenheit and Réaumur thermometer, and concealing offset cistern tube, which terminates within ebonised urn shaped cistern cover.
