Elegant and unusual rosewood cased Marine Barometer, the delicately arched top over engraved ivory register plates, signed by the maker, bearing rack-and-pinion operated vernier, and protected by brass-framed bevelled glass. The trunk, of well-figured ‘Rio’ rosewood, inset with ivory Fahrenheit and Réaumur thermometer and with concealed marine barometer tube terminating within turned cylindrical brass cistern cover. The whole supported on replaced gimbals
