Description / Expertise

A London based painter and watercolourist who exhibited in London between 1831 and 1883. He was prolific exhibitor to the Royal Society of British Artists and was elected a member in 1852. He painted in the Southern counties, Scotland, Cornwall and North Wales and visited Normandy early in his career. He often collaborated with other artists including Cornelius Pearson and Thomas Richard Colman Dibdin. Little is know about him after 1883 although he was said to have emigrated to Boston.

Works by him are in the collection of the British Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum.
