Description / Expertise

David Binns was born in Sutton-in-Craven and attended Skipton Art School and then Leeds College of Art. He taught for a time before becoming a free-lance artist and moving to Northumberland where he could study the wildfowl of the nearby Lindsfarne Nature Reserve and Farne Islands. In 1990 he returned to Yorkshire where he still lives.

He became a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 1968 and regularly exhibits with them at the Mall Galleries, winning the RSPB Fine Art Award on four occasions. He also works as a bird and wildlife illustrator.
